Originally from Corry, Pennsylvania, Mason is a director and educator based out of Jersey City, NJ. He received his MFA in Directing at The New School for Drama where he now teaches as part of their Directing Faculty and serves as Co-Chair of the Curriculum Committee.
Mason is passionate about the art of storytelling and finding unique ways to deliver these stories to an audience. His vision, both on stage and in the classroom focuses on creating cohesive dialogue between mediums; the pursuit of creating a living and breathing world on stage. With past work as a musician and a filmmaker , his bold visual style and staging borrows techniques from cinematography, modern dance, and musical composition often investigating story through abstraction and simplicity.
He has developed work at venues such as: New York Theatre Workshop, PTC Performance Space, Playwrights Horizons, The Lion Theater, Art House Productions, The Cell, Theatre for the New City, Tisch School for the Arts, The New School for Drama, and Theatre 80.
