Mason will be heading this year's New Works/Devised sector of New School's  Summer Intensive.

3/17 ANNOUNCEMENT: DEVISED THEATRE @ NSD

Mason will be developing and running the devised/new works sector of The New School for Drama's Summer Acting Intensive. 

1/17 TEACHING: EMBODIED PRACTICE:PARALEL

Mason returned to The New School for Drama to teach Embodied Practice: Parallel for the BFA program. This is a reflective learning class using various techniques designed to allow the artist to explore "making" by thinking across modalities - and in atypical ways.

1/17 DIRECTING: THE DROWSY CHAPERONE

Mason started rehearsals for Saint Peter's University production of The Drowsy Chaperone. 

12/16 PANEL DISCUSSION: DIVERSITY IN THE ARTS

Mason produced and moderated a panel discussion on diversity in the performing arts for Saint Peter's University. This panel discussion explores the current state of minority representation in the performing arts and what the conversation should be moving forward. Panelists included
Raph Peña (Artistic Director of Ma-Yi Theater Company), Quanda Johnson (OBC Ragtime), and Celeste Bateman (Arts Administrator).

This Thursday join a young maiden on her journey through a darkly whimsical world of fantasy.  Shayfer James and Mason Beggs create an immersive piece of theatre that brings to life one of Grimms' lesser known and more terrifying fairy tales. TICKETS

9/16 TEACHING: VISUAL PERCEPTION

The New School for Drama has brought Mason on for the Fall Semester to teach a course titled "Visual Perception and the Stage".  The course will explore the correlation between perception of two dimensional images, and the three dimensional space of the theatre

9/16 ANNOUNCEMENT: TERMINAL OF TERROR

Mason was brought on board by ChicPea to produce and direct a series of performances to accompany the events of The Terminal of Terror October 29th in Jersey City. More info to come. TICKETS

9/16 TEACHING: DIRECTOR'S MODULE

The New School for Drama brought Mason on to teach a Visual Thinking Module for their graduate directors. The two part workshop explored how artists connect and perceive unique their our own experiences, and how that perception manifests into personal aesthetic.  The focus was on developing each students ability to perceive, reflect, and repurpose information for use in their own work, as well as strengthening their ability to translate emotional response into visual representation.

9/16 EVENT: POP UP OPERA

Excited to have co-directed Jersey City's first Pop Up Opera with Molly Dunn of "Singing With Molly".  The event will take place at Another Man's Treasure Vintage Shop and is sponsored by NJ Beer Company.  INFO

Art House Productions and Mason are proud to announce the world premiere of The Handless Maiden, running for seven performances from September 15 through 24th, 2016.  The piece is an immersive fairy tale that was developed over the last month by Mason, composer Shayfer James, and an insanely talented cast and creative team. The production tells the story a young maiden who flees to the woods after an evil force descends upon her small village.  Join us on her unforgettable journey into a macabre world of fantasy.

Art House Productions and Jersey City Summer Works brought Mason Beggs and Terry Macsweeny on board to lead a masterclass in Collaborative Process for their talented group of young artists.

Mason will be leading a month long course in Devised Theatre for the New School for Drama's Summer On-Stage Intensive.
